Accounts Receivable Assistant - Glasgow

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Receivable Assistant to make a significant contribution to the growth of this award–winning, international technology business.

The main purpose of this role is to assist the Accounts Receivable Team Leader:

  • In the day to day recording of receipts and to be responsible for the application onto the correct account/invoice.

  • Taking part in month end activities such as account reconciliation, month end close and month end reporting is also expected.

The role will be UK based, but will require interaction with our 15 international offices.   If you’re interested in a role in a fast growing international business, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Team Leader, the key duties of this new role will include:

  • Daily review and allocation of payments received.

  • Recording Bank Receipts - ensuring remittances obtained proactively from the customer where necessary.

  • Ensuring sufficient documentation maintained to trace transactions and maintain reconciliation.

  • Ensuring the allocation of advance payments against customers or to appropriate G/L area, proactively contact customers regarding unresolved cash items.

  • Recording Cheque receipts, lodging cheques with bank, follow through to receipt in account.

  • Review and allocate Unallocated Cash amounts on a regular basis.

  • Sending sales invoices to customers on a daily basis.

  • Sending reminder letters and statements to customers.

  • Maintenance of customer accounts / records.

  • Various ad hoc responsibilities as assigned by Team Leader / Manager.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Educated to higher / standard grade level or equivalent

  • Requires proven related experience ideally operating in a busy accounts department.

  • Must demonstrate excellent computer skills.

  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy required.

  • Excellent interpersonal, team working, communication and presentation skills

  • Adaptable to business change within a fast paced environment
