Accounts Payable and Expenses Manager

Work Pattern: Full time, permanent role with hybrid working 3 days in the office/2 days working from home   

As a result of an internal move, an opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable and Expenses Manager to manage the UK Accounts Payable team (circa 3).  Reporting to the UK Financial Controller, you will be responsible for UK payments for all purchase invoices, implementing a Purchase to Pay policy and managing foreign payments for multiple entities.

In addition you will be responsible for:

  • Providing information on expected cash payments for the purposes of cash flow reporting and meeting FX hedging requirements
  • Providing weekly reports of amounts outstanding on an aged basis with commentary on status and next steps
  • Managing agreed escalation process for accounts payable including the communications and actions required for problem accounts
  • Undertaking complex reconciliations when required to agree balances due to suppliers
  • Assisting the wider Finance team with Accounts Payable related queries and concerns
  • Ensuring that month end reporting from Concur is issued in a timely and accurate manner

The successful candidate will have overall AP finance process knowledge and experience including reconciliations and management of expense management systems and policies. Ideally you will have previous experience of working within a fast-paced engineering environment.

You will also possess:

  • Proven track record of ability to prioritise own workload with that of wider team and business
  • Exceptional organisational skills with an adaptable approach to business change
  • Experience of working with an integrated ERP/SAP system would be highly desirable
  • Experience of improving effectiveness and efficiencies of operational Purchase Ledger team
