An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Applications Manager to join our growing HQ in Inchinnan. Reporting to the Head of IT you will have direct responsibility for the global applications team, this will include: planning, management control, operational performance, changes to global applications and application infrastructure. A strong manager with the ability to build and drive a team, outstanding all-round communication, skills you will be comfortable contributing to the development of the overall IT strategy and application roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that appropriate 2nd and 3rd line support is in place for all Peak application solutions, including disaster recovery procedures.
- Create and embed application maintenance, change control and monitoring procedures for all Peak application solutions.
- Help create and ensure consistency with the Group Technology Standards working closely with the IT Operations Manager.
- Ensure that day to day activities for the Applications Team are planned and managed in line with day to day priorities, balancing project and operational requirements.
- Ensure a corporate suite of policies and procedures and technology standards are developed, maintained, deployed and audited, in line with HQ and local business unit requirements.
- Negotiate and manage 3rd party technology contracts with application service providers.
- Work with the IT Operations Manager to ensure that all Peak application solutions are developed and managed on-going, in line with IT strategy and IT operational plans.
You will be of graduate calibre or equivalent and ideally with Prince 2 or another relevant project management qualification, with a proven commercial track record. Knowledge of ITIL practices and SLA creation, would also be beneficial.
Other key requirements include:
- Experience of managing application implementations and support structures within a global environment, including ERP, CRM and BI solutions.
- Experience of change management within a busy development and support environment.
- Operational experience of running a significant business function or project(s).
- Strong communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate to all programme stakeholders.
- Will have previously worked as an Applications Manager/Consultant, preferably with SAP experience.
- Knowledge of working with an ERP vendor/partner to implement new solutions and deliver ongoing support.
