Location: HQ, Inchinnan, Renfrew near Glasgow Airport

Training Provider: West College Scotland

We have an exciting new role for an Apprentice Integration Engineer to join our Engineering team in Inchinnan. This is an excellent opportunity for a school leaver or college student to join a fast-paced manufacturing company that has experienced significant growth in recent years. The role has a clear progression path and will be the perfect role for someone who is eager to learn and to develop their skills in a company which is a pioneer in its industry.

THE ROLE: As an Apprentice Integration Engineer, you will play a supporting role to the business on the integration of engineering changes to current products and support the Engineering department on the integration of new products as required.

This is an interesting role where no two days are the same, however if you enjoy solving problems and have a genuine desire to grow with an award-winning organisation, this could be the perfect role for you.

Reporting to the New Product Integration Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting engineers to make changes to current products using 2D and 3D CAD in line with the Engineering Change Notification process
  • Creating 2D CAD drawings to be processed and distributed to suppliers
  • Updating and maintaining component Models and Bill of Materials
  • Updating and creating Component Specification Documents
  • Creating new part numbers and maintain details in ERP system
  • Undertaking further education to gain HNC/HND in Mechanical or Product Design / CAD

THE CANDIDATE:

Your key attributes will include:

  • Experience of 2D and 3D CAD packages – Solidworks is preferable, but not essential
  • Understanding of engineering principles / design of metalwork
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn
  • Good communication skills
  • Can do attitude
  • Working towards or completed NC/HNC in Mechanical or Product Design / CAD
  • SQA Highers in Product Design or Graphic Communication would also be considered
  • Understanding of document compliance and drawing revision control
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
