Associate Manufacturing Engineer - Glasgow

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader, your primary focus will be to manage daily production support issues arising from the shop floor and provide technical support to maintain the smooth running of production. 

The role will also involve:

  • identifying opportunities for improvement both in product and manufacturing processes

  • supporting new products from design and development into production

  • supporting automated assembly processes ensuring maximum availability

  • creating and maintaining data (Drawings, BoM, Manuals) to support the product life-cycle

  • monitoring the throughput of finished product in the test area to ensure compliance

  • maintaining systems to ensure compliance with ISO and CSA standards

A proven track record in a fast paced manufacturing environment will allow you to succeed in this role and an understanding of material and assembly processes is essential. A formal qualification in an Engineering discipline or evidence of working towards one would be beneficial. 

Ideally, candidates should also have:

  • knowledge of process and/or product improvement methodology with experience of working in a lean manufacturing environment

  • an innovative approach to resolving issues

  • hands on experience of working with machinery and tools including automated assembly equipment

  • strong analytical problem solving capability preferably  with electro-mechanical systems

  • strong attention to detail when managing large amounts of production data

  • experience of improvement techniques such as Kaizen and production analysis would be advantageous

  • an awareness of ISO 9001

  • experience of MS Office tools, 2D CAD and computerised systems used for MRP and document compliance.
