Billing and Collections Specialist - USA

Peak Scientific Instruments is an award winning Scottish Company, specializing in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market. We have an excellent opportunity for a Billing and Collections Specialist to join the team in our North American Headquarters in Billerica, MA.

THE ROLE: Reporting to the Group AR Manager and Finance Manager, the job holder will be responsible for assisting the Finance team with daily accounting processes including the following:

  • Working with the finance team in the UK Headquarters, as well as the local US team, to ensure accurate accounting records, ensuring all functions are completed in a timely manner
  • Processing/Generating all invoices for US and Canadian based sales, ensuring that the appropriate tax rate is applied and charged on all invoices.
  • Researching invoice and payment inquiries
  • Processing Credit Card payments for invoices
  • Setting up Customer Accounts in SAP
  • Assisting with US/Canada Month End close
  • Sending Customer Billing Statements on a regular basis
  • Sending invoices to Customers/Update Log with Mailed Dates
  • Accounts Receivable - update A/R aged debt report bi-weekly, update comments daily and follow up with customers regarding payment
  • Credit Control - review new account applications, set credit limits and payment terms, with approval of Finance Manager.

THE CANDIDATE: You will have outstanding organizational skills and the ability to work independently with little or no supervision within a close-knit team. Knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel, is essential as well as knowledge of SAP or similar accounting systems and basic accounting principles.
