Peak Scientific Instruments, a fast-growing company specializing in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market, is looking to recruit a talented Bookkeeper - France.   

We are an award winning company with our headquarters in Scotland. We have a very strong reputation in the marketplace with plans to grow significantly over the next few years. We export 90% of our sales to approximately 126 countries and have a number of global offices including USA, China, South Africa, India, Middle East, Brazil, Singapore, Mexico and Australia. THE ROLE: Reporting to the Service and Operations Manager, France. This role will be based in Peak Scientific France, Palaiseau.

Your main job functions will include:

  • Ensure the record and follow-up of all accounting matters in accordance to Peak policy.

  • Assist the Service and Operations Manager in all office management and local HR tasks.

  • Report all figures, statements, balances and any other requirements to both local managers and HQ.

Key Tasks will include;

  • Bookkeeping of all the account entries of the Company (sales and supplies invoices, bank ledger, cash collection) and other entries provided by the Chartered Accountant Agency, including diverse operations, VAT returns, payroll, and new standards, on the Company Sage system.

  • Check and manage suppliers and customer payments.

  • Manage customer dunning.

  • Check and record all French team expenses.

  • Bank reconciliation of all operations.

  • Liaise with the Chartered Accounting Agency.

  • Prepare and record the VAT returns, CIT, European and social declarations with the Chartered Accounting Agency.

  • Follow up and manage all employee folders, holidays, lunch and CESU tickets, insurance and health insurance.

  • Record of all inventory regularisations.

  • Support the move of current accounting and sales management system to the new SAP system.

  • Assist the Chartered Accounting Agency by providing all information required for preparation of Company’s final accounts.

  • Preparation of monthly reports to Overseas Finance Manager.

Skills required:

  • Experience in bookkeeping, preferable Sage.

  • Experience using SAP.

  • Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written English.

  • Microsoft Office skills, plus experience of ERP management software.

  • Customer focussed.

  • Communication – able to communicate clearly with customers both verbally and in writing.

  • Good self-motivation, with the capacity to plan time effectively and prioritise the resilience to remain effective in the face of pressure.
