UK based Peak Scientific Instruments, global leader in the manufacture, innovation and service of laboratory gas generators is looking to recruit a Cashier to join a large and growing operation in Shanghai, China. With offices located at Zhangjiang High Tech Park in the Pudong area of Shanghai, Peak Scientific is a growing company around the world and particularly in China, giving you the opportunity to develop your career in a global company.
China is a key market for Peak Scientific both in terms of growth and its significant contribution to the £48 million annual turnover of the business. Since opening a dedicated office in Shanghai in 2012 with only a handful of employees, Peak has and continues to invest heavily and moving to a new state of the art facility in 2015 with over 30 office-based staff and over 20 Field Service and Sales employees covering the major regions of China including the key cities of Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzen. In 2016 Peak China was awarded “Best New Exporter”.
THE POSITION
- Invoice handling - Checking the legitimacy of the invoices and supporting documents in light of the company expense claim regulations and legal requirements.Ensuring scheduled payments are handled accurately and in a timely manner.
- Interface to local banks -Interfacing with local banks and Shanghai Administration of Foreign business to ensure payments are handled in a timely and efficient manner. Handling foreign exchange payments, declarations and communications with SAFE.
- Bank balance monitoring - Monitoring the bank balance to ensure the company’s deposits are kept in a safe way and that the company has adequate cash flow. Feedback to finance management if there are any potential issues.
- Archiving of documents - Managing the archiving of finance vouchers, files, and other important finance documentation.
- Other tasks assigned by the Assistant Finance Manager.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
With a good standard of education, including a relevant college/university degree and Accounting English at advanced level, you must have a previous experience in a similar role. Other key attributes will include: MS Office (especially Excel), ERP (e.g. SAP) preferred. Strong all-round communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, high customer focus and attention to detail is essential.
