An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager to make a significant contribution to the growth of our award–winning, global technology manufacturing business here at Peak Scientific.
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you will be the Ambassador for Peak Supplier Relationship Management and responsible for developing and delivering effective category management purchasing strategies.
Your duties will include:
- Develop and deliver effective category management purchasing strategies with set review periods – (i.e. Outsourcing, insourcing, vertically integrating etc, Kraljic Analysis).
- Delivering a cost effective and autonomous supply chain through Risk Management Analysis.
- Driving collaboration with Suppliers and Design Engineers for new product technological advances.
- Driving variable cost savings, tracking commodities and lean engineering activities.
- Component lifecycle management.
- Key point of contact with suppliers on delivery and quality reliability, instigating and developing corrective and preventative action programmes with quality vendor engineer(s).
- Undertaking supplier business and procurement audits ensuring compliance and to form strategic partnerships.
- Challenging forecasts and ensure projected demands are effectively managed by suppliers.
- Maintaining SAP with all contracts, validity periods, visit reports, audits and up-to-date supplier information.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree level (equivalent) in a ‘supply chain / procurement’ technical subject matter
- Proven track record within a procurement environment
- High system literacy (SAP, Excel, etc.).
- Business Acumen.
