Deliver commercial trading best practice globally for Peak Scientific, world leader in Gas Generators.

THE ROLE: As Commercial Director reporting to our Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for the management of all our commercial trading arrangements, associated legal agreements and documentation, balancing the needs of sales delivery and business growth with financial controls and measures.  Managing our General Management team, supported by other functional group directors, you will also implement consistent reporting metrics to drive business best practice, in addition to creating an environment providing autonomy to overseas entities whilst maintaining group control.  Supporting the OEM annual negotiation process, you will work with the sales director actively to promote new business and assume a lead role in the development of an infrastructure and strategy to support iFlow business growth.  As well as working with the finance director on internal audits across global entities, you will also:

  • challenge senior management to improve the business
  • create a culture globally where profitability drives behaviours
  • support group finance to deliver all aspects of financial compliance.

THE CANDIDATE: Preferably degree-educated, you must have proven expertise in contract management and the development of commercial agreements, encompassing knowledge of overseas markets and trading requirements, notably in North America, China, Europe and LATAM.  Able to manage a diverse, widely dispersed team and to influence and drive cross-functional behaviour, you thrive in a fast-growing agile environment.  Your comprehensive experience of business finance, preferably in a leadership role, is underpinned by a real grasp of key drivers.  Your ability to support sales and business development when required matches your practical, numbers-oriented approach and exceptional people skills.  Adept at impressing clients and satisfying customers, you enable multi-dimensional teams to work together, using your strong interpersonal skills and ability to convey complex ideas eloquently. 

You can also offer:

  • the ability to work effectively under periods of high pressure
  • a history of owning P&L of a business or a significantly sized division (>£5m)
  • the willingness and ability to travel regularly, often over weekends.
