THE ROLE: As HR Compliance Officer reporting to our Group HR Manager, you will be responsible for interpreting legal and regulatory requirements in employment and data protection regulation across the globe and implementing an effective compliance program and its monitoring procedures. You will oversee all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance and adherence to the organisation’s HR and GDPR policies and procedures. You will be given a certain amount of autonomy to put in place processes and standards that will support a fast-moving, fast-growing company to stay legally compliant in our regions. You will develop, maintain and revise policies and procedures, laying the foundations for an operational HR compliance program, with the purpose of preventing illegal, unethical or improper conduct at Peak.

Other key accountabilities include:

  • Responding to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
  • Conducting investigations, prepare reports and maintain records.
  • Ensuring we address all queries from data subjects within legal time frames
  • Liaising with other organisations that process data on our behalf
  • Writing and updating detailed guides on data protection policies
  • Arranging training on GDPR compliance for employees.
  • Working with management, key departments to ensure that the organization has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consent, authorization forms, and information notices and materials reflecting current organization and legal practices and requirements.
  • Maintains an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of related legal benchmarks from regional legislation
  • Follow up with changes in law and issue recommendations to ensure compliance

THE CANDIDATE: You will have significant work experience in HR, audit, law or compliance with an international company or organisation. In addition we require the following –

  • University degree or equivalent (law, business administration, social sciences, psychology or similar discipline).
  • Expert knowledge of data protection law and practices.
  • An understanding of employment law in the UK, Europe or Americas.
  • Ability to design and support an effective compliance programme.
  • Skilled communicator with the proven ability to influence, stakeholders across the business, including Board level.
