Controls Engineer - Glasgow

Peak Scientific, a global leader in the manufacture of nitrogen and hydrogen gas generators mainly for the analytical laboratory market, is looking to recruit an experienced Controls Engineer to join our Design Engineering Group. Specialising in electronics and embedded software you will be responsible for developing the control systems for our award winning gas generation systems.

Working with or leading cross functional teams, you will play a key role in driving the design and development of new products from conception to manufacture. Identification and evaluation of new methods, suppliers and processes will be key in improving quality, functionality, performance, and reliability through innovative design.

Other key features of the role include:

  • Developing new products and technologies suitable for market acceptance, their manufacture and servicing in the field.

  • Working within a manufacturing environment to release new products.

  • Revision or modification of existing products to improve reliability

  • C programming

  • PCB layout for manufacturing

  • Prototyping and validation testing

  • Product compliance

Possessing a relevant degree in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering discipline, you will have a proven track record in an electrical or controls engineering role.  Along with your fundamental grasp of manufacturing processes and proven problem-solving skills, you’ll ideally bring experience of:

  • Schematic capture

  • PCB layout

  • Altium Designer package

  • Prototyping and test design

  • Data analysis

  • LVD and EMC directives
