Field Service Engineer, Eastern Canada, Alberta or Quebec - Canada

THE COMPANY: Peak Inc. is the rapidly expanding North American arm of Peak Scientific, with its main US office located in Billerica, Massachusetts, and plans for significant further growth over the next few years. You would be joining a North American team of around 55 staff, including dedicated sales and field service engineer teams covering the whole of mainland US and key territories in Canada. We are looking to recruit a talented Field Service Engineer ideally based in Alberta or Quebec, you will be an experienced Service Engineer, who is comfortable with extensive travel, sometimes out with your province.

We export 90% of our sales to approximately 126 countries. We have an expanding operation in the Americas which is headquartered in Billerica, Massachusetts. THE ROLE: Reporting to the Field Service Manager – North America, you will have fantastic technical and customer service skills, with the desire to exceed customer expectations at every opportunity. This role requires travel throughout all of Canada, with primary territory set as Eastern and Central.

Your main job functions will include:

  • Providing a high level of service and technical advice for Peak’s OEM customers
  • Working remotely with head office, you must be prepared, if requested, to provide worldwide service back up or technical support during holidays, sickness etc.
  • Ensuring that a high level of customer satisfaction is provided for the service and support of all Peak Scientific products
  • Carrying out routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and installations  
  • Working with the sales team to develop the instrument and service business
  • Working collaboratively with all Peak departments to ensure a high level of communication for all aspects of customer and product support
  • Providing customers with a detailed service report and respond to all customer requests for service and support (telephone and email).

THE CANDIDATE:

  • Complete and detailed understanding of pressure systems and transportable gases
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of electronics and mechanical systems
  • Good practical skills and a methodical approach to resolving problems
  • Ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety as it impacts the position  
  • A university degree in a related subject would be preferable but not essential
  • It would be highly advantageous if you are bi-lingual (French-English)
