THE COMPANY: Peak Scientific Instruments, a fast–growing company specializing in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to support our customers and OEMs in South Korea.
We are an award-winning company, with our head office based in Scotland, by Glasgow Airport and have a very strong reputation in the market place.  Our current turnover is £60M, with plans to grow significantly over the next few years.  We export 90% of our sales to approximately 126 countries and have a number of global offices including USA, China, South Africa, India, Brazil, Singapore, Mexico and Australia with more than 600 employees worldwide.
 
Due to continuing success and growth, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer in South Korea. This is a remote based position currently in Seoul or nearby.
 
THE ROLE: Reporting to the Regional Service Manager, this role is based in South Korea and involve traveling with the country and occasional travel into Singapore and UK whenever needed. This role will also support the Head of Sales closely when requested, for sales/ customer requirements. The Field Service Engineer will be primarily responsible for the delivery world-class services towards Peak’s customers and providing technical support to Peak’s business channels. A self-motivated and disciplined person who’s able to exercise thorough analytical thought processes in his field and attention to details. The candidate should exhibit traits in customer’s expectation management as well as a sound knowledge of Office based programmes.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Scheduling of jobs with external customers
  • Liaison with back office for delivering stock management
  • Carry out routine maintenance, emergency repairs, installations and operation training as well as general support in a professional, prompt and efficient manner to ensure total customer satisfaction
  • Accurate scheduling of maintenance jobs including selection of P.M kits
  • Respond effectively and professionally to all customer requests for service and support (telephone and e-mails)
  • Provide customers and head office with a clear and accurate service report for all work carried out.
  • Maintain and replenish personal van stock of parts and carry out inventory checks as requested
  • Work with the Service Sales Specialist to develop both sales and service business in the territory
  • Ensure an effective liaison with other PEAK departments (sales, marketing, logistics, engineering and production) to ensure a high level of communication and co-operation for all aspects of customer and product support
  • Inform Regional Service Manager of all serious customer complaints and escalations.
  • Take the initiative to continually enhance and develop knowledge and understanding of the complete product range
  • Provide a high level of service and technical advice for PEAK Scientific customers, OEM, distributors and internal staff
  • Follow-up promptly on requirements specified by Regional Service Manager and/ or Senior Territory Manager
 
 
THE CANDIDATE:
Experience
  • Experience of maintaining pressure systems and transportable gases in a similar or related industry will be an advantage.
  • Some knowledge of electronics, hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products is essential, other systems training will be provided
  • Field service delivery

  • Education in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electronics / Electrical / Biomedical Engineering

  • Possess valid country driving license
  • Willingness to travel extensively and on short notice
