Field Service Technician - Northern England

We have an excellent opportunity for Field Service Technician to join our Service Delivery Team. The role will predominately be based in North and Central England. As a Field Service Technician, you will provide a high level of Service support and advice to Peak customers, OEMs, distributors and internal staff.  You will primarily work alone at customer sites, where you will ensure a high degree of satisfaction is provided for the service and support of all Peak Scientific products.  You will work with the Sales team to seek-out and develop new business opportunities and you will also provide backup for Service Management in the field or office as required.

THE ROLE: As the Field Service Technician, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out routine maintenance, emergency repairs, installations and training as well as general support in a professional, prompt and efficient manner to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Responding effectively and professionally to all customer requests for service and support, including telephone and email.
  • Providing customers with a clear and accurate service report for all work carried out through use of the mobile CRM. 
  • Maintaining and replenishing personal stock of parts and carry out inventory checks as requested.
  • Ensuring an effective liaison with other Peak departments (sales, marketing, logistics, engineering and production) to ensure a high level of communication and co-operation for all aspects of customer and product support.
  • Informing Service Supervisor/Manager of all serious customer complaints and escalations that take in excess of 48 hours to resolve.
  • Taking the initiative to continually enhance and develop knowledge and understanding of the complete product range.

THE CANDIDATE: You will have a complete and detailed understanding of pressure systems and transportable gases as well as good practical skills and a methodical approach to resolving problems. You will be self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision and to tight deadlines. With good communication and interpersonal skills, you will be able to interface comfortably with both internal and external contacts at all levels.
