Field Service Technician - Sao Paulo

Peak Scientific, a fast-growing organization specializing in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market, is looking to recruit a talented Field Service Technician to join our vibrant team in Brazil. Reporting to the General Manager for LATAM, this role involves extensive travel around the region.

We export 90% of our sales to approximately 126 countries. We have an expanding operation in LATAM with offices in São Paulo and Mexico. Key tasks

  • Carrying out routine maintenance, emergency repairs, installations and training as well as general support in a professional, prompt and efficient manner to ensure total customer satisfaction
  • Responding effectively and professionally to all customer requests for service and support (telephone and email)
  • Ensuring that a high level of customer satisfaction is provided for the service and support of all Peak Scientific products by working within a “right first time” culture
  • Providing customers with a clear and accurate service report for all work carried out. Submit all service reports at the end of service;
  • Maintaining and replenishing personal van stock of parts and carry out inventory checks as requested
  • Ensuring an effective liaison with other Peak departments (sales, marketing, logistics, engineering and production) to ensure a high level of communication and co-operation for all aspects of customer and product support
  • Informing service admin team of all serious customer complaints and escalations that take more than 24 hours to resolve
  • Taking the initiative to continually enhance and develop knowledge and understanding of the complete product range
  • Provide a high level of service and technical advice for Peak Scientific customers, OEM’s, distributors, and internal staff.

With exceptional customer service and communication skills, you will also possess:  

  • Technician degree in electronic, mechanic or mechatronics
  • Experience of maintaining pressure systems and transportable gases in a similar or related industry will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of electronics, hydraulic and mechanical systems will be an advantage
  • Self-motivation, self-disciplined and with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good practical skills and a methodical approach to resolving problems
  • Ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines and quick learner
  • Mandatory language proficiency – Portuguese, English
  • Possess local valid drivers license and owns a vehicle
  • Able to interface comfortably and effectively both internally and externally with a broad spectrum of personalities
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety as it impacts the position
  • Available for travelling up to 90% of working journey
