Field Service Technician - Melbourne

Peak Scientific Instruments, a fast–growing, global company specialising in the design, manufacture and support of laboratory gas generators predominately for the life science and biomedical markets are seeking to employ a commercially aware Field Service Technician

Having earned an enviable reputation in the market place for both products and service support Peak has experienced strong year on year growth with plans to grow significantly over the next few years. Peak HQ is based in the UK and we have a number of global offices including Australia, USA, China, South Africa, India, Brazil, Singapore and Mexico.

Reporting to the Service Supervisor, ANZ, this role will be based in our Melbourne office with interstate travel as required. There may also be some occasional overseas travel as required.

Main Job functions:

  • Provide a high level of service and technical support to Peak’s customers.
  • Respond effectively and professionally to all customer requests for service & support (telephone/email).
  • Provide customers with a detailed and accurate service report and submit all reports via company systems.
  • Ensure that a high level of customer satisfaction is provided for the service and support of all Peak Scientific products.
  • Carry out routine maintenance, breakdown repairs, and installations.
  • Working remotely with head office, you must be prepared, if requested, to provide worldwide service back up or technical support during holidays, sickness etc.
  • Work cross functionally with all departments to ensure best service possible for all customers.

Skills required:

  • Electro-mechanical engineering with pneumatics experience.
  • Self-motivated having the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good practical skills and a methodical approach to resolving problems and fault finding.
  • Ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of OH&S as it impacts the position.
  • Experience of maintaining pressure systems would be an advantage.
  • Full clean driving licence
