THE ROLE: As Global Operations Manager reporting to our Operations Director, you’ll be responsible for all our operations functions to ensure we achieve customer delivery deadlines and quality requirements.  Leading a site-wide manufacturing team, encompassing three managers in each of the production/support areas, in addition to 70 technicians and warehouse staff, you’ll drive an operation, combining both modular and cell assembly, producing in excess of 1600 units annually.  The development of a culture of continuous improvement, via lean manufacturing tools, whilst coaching, leading and managing employees to embrace the culture of never-ending improvement in safety, productivity, quality, cost and delivery, will be mission-critical.

Other key accountabilities include:

  • shipping material globally to satisfy world-class service requirements
  • scheduling resources and prioritising workload
  • engaging with our senior management team
  • cost control, maintaining EHS and quality standards
  • motivating and engaging teams by providing coaching and training to develop their skills.

THE CANDIDATE: Preferably with a degree in business-related discipline, underpinned by efficiency in SAP B1 or equivalent, you must have significant operations management experience within a complex manufacturing/engineering environment, together with a demonstrable track record of achieving results and managing change.  Able to engage and work with numerous stakeholders across the business, you should have some experience of managing and developing an offshore sister site through a period of significant growth.  In addition to your value-add and lean experience, you are also:

  • committed to business improvement
  • capable of managing, developing and implementing strategy for manufacturing operations
  • able to meet performance plans, within budget, across a wide range of functions.
