THE COMPANY
Peak Inc. is the rapidly expanding North American arm of Peak Scientific, with its main US office located in Billerica, Massachusetts, and plans for significant further growth over the next few years. You would be joining a North American team of around 60 staff, including dedicated sales and field service engineer teams covering the whole of mainland US and key territories in Canada.
POSITION
As Head of Finance reporting to our General Manager – North America, as well as a direct link to Group Finance (UK based) you will be responsible for the following:
- Leading the finance function for Peak Scientific Inc. and Peak Scientific Canada
- Managing the local finance team consisting of Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable roles
- Oversees the preparation, compilation, and presentation of financial reporting. In collaboration with the General Manager sets, monitors and reports on key indicators across the organization in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintaining the integrity of financial information, ensuring all finance processes are fit for purpose in line with Group requirements and a strong control environment is maintained
- Ensure finance are fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations
- Deliver the month end process, ensuring timely production of management accounts reporting within the Group Finance timetable along with supporting commentary
- Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and commentary to Group Finance as required including cost benefit analysis of operations and programs
- Statutory Tax compliance and liaison with external tax advisors
- Coordinating payroll with external payroll company
- Managing all Insurance requirements in accordance with guidance from the Group
- Cash flow management and reporting
- Provide financial visibility across the business & drive improvement with solid analytical skills and strategic analysis
- Recruit, interview, hire and develop finance, accounting and payroll staff as required
- Driving continuous improvements across finance and the wider business
THE CANDIDATE
You will also have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Qualified CPA or CA with a minimum 7 years post qualified experience within industry
- Knowledge and working experience of SAP B1
- Strong knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Knowledge/understanding of SOX compliance requirements would be helpful
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight periodic reporting deadlines
- Ability to dig below the high-level numbers. Implement root cause analysis when needed
- Experience of Microsoft Office is essential – particularly Word and Excel
- Action oriented leader and financial strategist with a proven track record and demonstrated success in growing a mid-size company, in industrial manufacturing
- Working with various teams within the organisation as well as subsidiary offices around the world, make excellent communication skills essential
