IT Business Analyst - Manufacturing - Glasgow

Reporting to the Head of IT, this is a key role responsible for partnering with stakeholders to plan, build and implement technology-based solutions to address business priorities. The Business Analyst (BA) will focus on understanding business challenges, generating ideas and then developing them through possible IT solutions to implementation.

Joining a small team of BAs, you will focus on the Operations area of our business where you’ll effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidates will interact with a number of departments throughout such as production, operations and logistics. Please note that you must have worked in a manufacturing organisation to be considered. 

The successful candidates will interact with a number of departments throughout the business such as marketing, finance and production. Your strong stakeholder management skills will enable you to deal with senior business users to determine requirements as well as resolve issues. This is an opportunity to act as a bridge between the business users and technical IT teams and will significantly contribute to Peaks’ success.

Some of the duties will include:

  • Leading discussions with business teams to agree objectives, scope, constraints, and business benefits for potential improvement initiatives
  • Running process analysis workshops to identify waste, bottlenecks and duplication in process
  • Mapping data flows to process
  • Aligning technology to business capabilities and process and considering improvements and changes in line with our technology blueprints and roadmaps
  • Preparing reports on project scoping, planning, and management and support creation of business cases
  • Providing support to the Project Manager in the delivery of business initiatives
  • Working with the business, development and test teams to help deliver thoroughly tested, working business systems that meet project requirements

Ideally you will have some knowledge of process improvement techniques and project methodologies, preferably across a similar industry. A background of manufacturing technology is a significant advantage. Exposure to using ERP systems is beneficial and you’ll be a self-motivated individual with exceptional problem solving skills.

You will also possess:

  • The ability to work collaboratively across teams whilst developing strong internal stakeholder relationships
  • Self-motivation and the drive to identify issues and propose ways to resolve them
  • High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to deliver tasks on time
  • Good MS Office skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and experience with Business process modelling tools like Visio
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and initiatives
