IT Business Support Analyst - Glasgow

Peak Scientific is transitioning its ERP solution which manages its day-to-day business activities from SAP S4 to SAP Business One (B1). We are seeking a permanent IT Business Support Analyst to play a key role in this transition, as well as provide support for our current solution.

THE ROLE: Reporting to the Head of IT, as IT Business Support Analyst your duties will involve:

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line application support for the current SAP solution in line with agreed service levels and working practices

  • Data Migration activities for the move to the new solution

  • Creating and manage Crystal Reports/SQL queries and Layouts

  • Maintaining company data standards and identify and implement procedures in areas where improvement in control is required.

  • Supporting implementation of systems changes, upgrades in line with the change calendar and change control processes.

  • Providing a business analysis service, communicating clearly with customers, ensuring business requirements are fully documented and understood progressing approved changes though to implementation and test.

  • Maintaining, supporting and developing existing systems and applications in line with and agreed software development lifecycle (SDLC) process.

  • Understanding SAP roadmap to assess future changes against enhancement requests made by users

THE CANDIDATE: You will have experience of ERP solutions (SAP or any other) as well as:  

  • Understanding of general business practices, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products is essential

  • Skills in Crystal reporting, BI 360 reporting, SQL would be desirable

You will have proven track record of an ability to:

  • resolve complex functional and configuration issues within SLA’s

  • solve practical business and IT related problems where only standardisation exists

  • actively identify opportunities for added value and innovation

  • mentor internal customers to ensure good understanding of systems, processes, knowledge transfer and upskillin
