IT Development Support Analyst - Glasgow

Due to our continued growth, we’re delighted to be recruiting an IT Development Support Analyst to make a significant contribution to our award–winning, global technology manufacturing business here at Peak Scientific.

Reporting to the Senior Developer, this role will involve providing BAU support whilst delivering continuous improvements for Peak’s existing SAP B1 solution, across UK, Europe and North America ensuring that service levels are adhered to. In addition, the Analyst will provide technical support to the IT team and the business at large; ensuring system health; move backups of all script to code repository and retrieve as required; assisting in the development of solutions in a timely and efficient manner; and taking responsibility for ensuring PEAK documentation detailing customisations is complete and technically comprehensive.

Your duties will include:

  • Advising on, configuring and running complex data imports
  • Managing and reporting routine code backups
  • Helping with reporting tools such as BI360, SSRS or Crystal Reports
  • SAP B1 BOYUM\BEAS customisations
  • Managing and Assisting with SSIS Package design, up to and including some C# coding
  • Assisting with creation and maintenance of SQL databases, objects, and code including the Peak Data Warehouse.
  • Technical documentation of: MS T-SQL code; HANA SQL code; SSIS code; and SAP B1 BOYUM and BEAS code.

 

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • T-SQL and/or Hana SQL
  • SQL Server Administration, some knowledge of maintenance plans, backups, and SQL Server Agent are required though training will be given.
  • Visual Studio, some exposure to the interface is required.
  • .NET programming languages. Including C# to a good basic level.
  • Understanding of general business practices, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Competent in eliciting and defining requirements with an understanding of general business practices, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

It would also be highly desirable if you had the following additional Skills & Experience:

  • Previous Exposure to SAP B1
  • SSIS and SQL Server Agent, SSIS Package Development, LogicApps
  • ETL and Data Warehouses understanding of typical ETL architecture and use-case combined with any experience is highly desirable.
  • Technical and Quality Documentation
  • Flow Charts/activity diagrams
  • Power Query, Excel, PowerBI
