IT Operations Manager - Glasgow

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented IT Operations Manager to join our growing HQ in Inchinnan. Reporting to the Head of IT you will have direct responsibility for: planning, management control, operational performance, changes to IT operational services and application infrastructure. A strong manager with the ability to develop and drive a team, outstanding all-round communication, skills you will be comfortable contributing to the development of the overall IT strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement appropriate IT standards in the IT operations team, including ITIL and security standards.

  • Ensure that appropriate disaster and business continuity plans are in place for all Peak systems including backup and recovery procedures.

  • Implement appropriate security standards to protect company data and assets, including adherence to relevant legislation (e.g. GDPR).

  • To define and deliver KPI reporting on IT operations performance.

  • To provide operational management of the Peak global network and IT operational systems.

  • Take on the role of Project Manager for small infrastructure and communications projects.

  • Manage connectivity and access to cloud services deployed within Peak.

  • Embed strict technical maintenance, change control and monitoring procedures.

  • Effectively collaborate with the Applications Manager to ensure that Peak applications are developed and managed on-going, in line with IT strategy and IT operational plans.

You will be of graduate calibre or equivalent and ideally with Prince 2 or another relevant project management qualification, with a proven commercial track record. Knowledge of ITIL practices and SLA creation, would also be beneficial.

Other key requirements include:

  • Experience of managing IT operations and support structures within a global environment.

  • Experience of change management within a busy development and support environment.

  • Operational experience of running a significant business function or project(s).

  • Robust experience of working as an Operations Manager/Senior Analyst, preferably with SAP experience.

  • Understanding/experience of Office 365 and Microsoft Azure technologies/capabilities.

  • Good understanding of business issues combined with excellent customer service skills, flexibility and an ability to prioritise accordingly.

  • Experience in supporting infrastructure for cloud and on premise ERP, CRM, field service systems.
