Junior Finance/Office Administrator

Reporting to our Accounts Receivable and Office Admin Supervisor, North America, this role’s main purpose is to support the monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax compliance processes, general accounting, HR and Admin functions within the organization.  In this role, you’ll be responsible for exercising attention to detail, work with minimal supervision on activities supporting sales tax, accounts receivable, accounts payable and other adhoc administrative tasks  

Duties will include:

  • Collection and maintenance of customer tax exemption certificates within Avalara, the sales tax system.
  • Manage comprehensive compliance calendar of deliverables for business licenses, income, and sales tax.
  • Review of Concur (travel & other business related) expense reports in accordance with company policy including periodic audits to ensure compliance with business policy and related sales tax requirements.
  • Provide administrative support to a variety of business processes related to business and office management.
  • Assist in answering main reception line and directing query to the correct department.
  • Perform other finance & administrative responsibilities as necessary

The successful candidate will have strong administrative skills, ideally within a finance department.  It would be beneficial to have experience of achieving targets but what’s key in this role will be your self-motivation and positive attitude to learning.

You will also possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience in accounting or finance, college degree preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Some experience in accounting with sales and use tax related experience.
  • Working knowledge of sales tax within the United States and Canada would be desirable.
  • Experience with SAP Business One or similar enterprise applications would be desirable.
  • Experience with 3rd party sales tax software, Avalara (Avatax) would be desirable.
