Job: Key Account Manager - OEMs

Job type: Full Time

Location: Glasgow, Inchinnan, Renfrewshire with some international travel

THE COMPANY: Peak Scientific Instruments is the global market leader in the design, manufacture and servicing of instrument gas generators for analytical laboratories in the life science and biomedical sectors.  With over a decade of sustained high growth and an international footprint across 20 countries, Peak is one of Scotland’s fastest-growing manufacturing businesses: a status recognised by being one of only two companies in the UK to be awarded two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in 2016, one of which was for our service offering.

THE ROLE: As Key Account Manager reporting to our Global Sales Director and with line management responsibility for the Account Management team, your major challenge will be to develop and drive sales strategy within our global key customer base, primarily OEMs, to grow and achieve aggressive sales targets.  Cultivating key influencers within each customer organisation and working closely with the Strategic OEM Business Development Manager, you’ll maximise commercial opportunities and strive to maintain our best-in-class customer-centricity status.  Developing commercial agreements and leading on negotiations, you’ll also champion important issues on behalf of Peak territories and drive their agenda at customers’ central offices/HQ.  The management of customer incoming and subsequent response will be a key feature of the role, liaising methodically with internal stakeholders, particularly overseas teams, using defined processes.

Further key accountabilities include:

  • strategy development and implementation
  • credible, accurate forecasting
  • promotion and marketing of all Peak products and services via activities including face-to-face meetings, sales presentations, workshops and trade shows
  • timely and accurate reporting to KPIs.

THE CANDIDATE: You must have a proven key account/sales management track record involving OEMs, ideally in a similar sector, with a real grasp of sales and service.  Technically and commercially astute and with the ability to develop in-depth product and service offering knowledge, you have a sound grasp of global market and industry dynamics.  You’re also confident and credible, with the gravitas to engender the respect of customers and colleagues, locally and remotely.  An excellent all-round communicator and relationship-builder with real commitment to teamwork, you’re especially results-driven, with a clear ability to develop strategies.

In addition to strong business acumen, your other attributes include:

  • pragmatic problem-solving capability
  • MS Office skills and, ideally, CRM system experience
  • the willingness and flexibility for overseas travel.

Individuals who fit our culture and values will have a high degree of professionalism and desire to succeed.  It’s a really dynamic, energised environment with both challenges and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

We offer a competitive package and opportunities to develop within an expanding international company.  If you have what it takes to be part of Peak, click APPLY!
