Working within the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will be supporting the production and operations teams to ensure production assets and equipment are maintained to the required standard. You will play a significant role in the maintenance of production assets to prevent and minimise downtime whilst ensuring all equipment adheres to a safe standard. These assets can range from simple trolleys to bespoke test equipment and semi-automated wire kit manufacture machines. The role will also involve:
- Performing planned routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment
- Reacting to breakdowns or ad-hoc requests for maintenance support on production assets
- Ensuring maximum uptime by promptly addressing equipment breakdowns and minimising downtime
- Conducting preventative maintenance tasks to prevent issues and optimising equipment performance
- Collaborating with colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status
- Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines while working with machinery and tools
- Assisting in identifying areas for process improvement and efficiency enhancement
You will be a self-starter who can work with limited supervision and ideally has a minimum HNC or City in Guilds qualification in an Engineering discipline. This role will suit someone with a strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills who has excellent communication and organisational skills. It would be highly advantageous if you have working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems, awareness of ISO 9001 quality management system principles and Electrical Wiring knowledge.
