Manufacturing Engineer - Glasgow

Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering Group here at Peak Headquarters in Inchinnan. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Leadership Team, your primary focus will be to manage daily engineering issues arising from the shop floor, new product introduction and provide technical support to maintain the smooth running of production. 

The role will also involve:

  • identifying opportunities for improvement both in product and manufacturing processes

  • supporting new products from design and development into production

  • supporting automated assembly processes ensuring maximum availability

  • monitoring the throughput of finished product in the test area to ensure compliance

  • maintaining systems to ensure compliance with ISO and CSA standards.

  • resolving production issues as well as fault finding on generators not meeting specification in the Test room.

  • supporting new product introduction by creating production and test documentation in order for technicians to build and test product

  • maintaining production and test documentation to accommodate changes in product or processes

  • supporting other functions, for example service and procurement, with respect to product or component issues as well as evaluating alternative components/materials to ensure production is not adversely impacted by changes.

We are looking for experienced Manufacturing / Process Engineers with a proven track record in a fast paced manufacturing environment. An understanding of material and assembly processes is essential and you will possess an HND or degree in an Engineering discipline such as Mechatronics, Engineering Systems, Mechanical or Production Engineering.

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • proven experience within an engineering background, a robust understanding materials and assembly processes, with a hands-on approach to resolving and engineering solutions to problems.
  • experiencing in managing several projects to meet departmental goals.
  • experience of liaising with personnel from different departments/functions to meet their requirements with regards to service/information requests.
  • robust IT skills, experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and in house systems if possible.
  • knowledge of gas generation using either Carbon Molecular Sieve (PSA), or Membrane technology, would be a benefit but is not essential.
