Peak Scientific Instruments, a fast–growing company specializing in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market is looking to recruit a Market Development Manager to support our customers and OEMs in Thailand.
We are an award-winning company, with our head office based in Scotland, by Glasgow Airport and have a very strong reputation in the market place. Our current turnover is £80M, with plans to grow significantly over the next few years. We export 90% of our sales to approximately 126 countries and have a number of global offices including USA, China, South Africa, India, Brazil, Singapore, Mexico and Australia.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, this role will be based at Bangkok, Thailand and involves extensive travel in Thailand.
Overview:
Market Development Manager, Thailand, will be driving the business development for both Gas Generator Sales & After-Market Sales in Thailand. While managing existing business partners, the individual will actively collaborate with both Regional Sales Manager and Service Sales Manager to identify the market needs & franchise strategies to achieve global business objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities

Lead, develop and manage gas generator sales and after-market service sales business in Thailand for Peak Scientific to achieve revenue targets.

Ensure high level of engagement with Peak’s business partners to meet business objectives and identity their needs to fulfil business requirements.

Worked closely with Sales and Service Sales Manager to develop and execute business strategies to enhance revenue, market penetration and win rates.

Effectively communicate and negotiate distributor agreement contract and pricing control to ensure business sustainability.

Gather and discuss prospect, market trends, concerns and business threats with Sales and Service Sales Manager.

Take full ownership on managing healthy sales funnel and provide sales forecast to support business understanding and supply chain.

Recommend and propose Thailand Annual Sales Budget to Sales and Service Sales Manager as requested.

Utilize sales tools to profile and gather sales opportunity intelligence

Making out-bound phone calls to a variety of companies and sales channels to capture quotes/ orders for Service Contracts

Cultivate relationships with customers to ensure their needs are being met and to uncover opportunities up/ cross selling

Develop their understanding of the customers changing service needs and/or operational issue and challenges.

Create viable service configurations which meet customers’ needs effectively, while achieving optimum margin for PEAK.

Differentiate assigned service offerings during the various stages of the sales process, effectively using PEAK resources and approved marketing and promotion materials to actively support the customer through their decision-making process towards a successful outcome for PEAK.

Represent the company at relevant conferences and exhibitions to promote PEAK.
Skills required
- Educational requirements – Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Science or Business.
- 3-5 years of experience in managing local distributor and direct sales is preferred.
- Channel management or Laboratory sales experience in Thailand preferred.
- Ability to speak both Thai and English is a must.
- Customer focused
- Excellent problem solver for both technical and commercial problems
- Ability to adapt to and communicate well with different cultures
- Understanding of Thailand business culture and Government Tender Procedure.
- A strong business acumen
