Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship

Location: Inchinnan, Renfrew

Are you curious about how things work? Do you enjoy practical, hands‑on learning? Are you ready to earn while you learn and begin building a career in engineering?

We’re looking for two Mechanical Engineering Apprentices to join our Manufacturing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real‑world engineering experience in a high‑tech manufacturing environment while working towards nationally recognised engineering qualifications. You will gain broad experience by rotating through key engineering and manufacturing areas, learning from experienced engineers and technicians. You’ll receive structured mentoring, on‑the‑job training, and formal college‑based learning.

What you’ll be involved in:

  • Developing core mechanical engineering skills across manufacturing, assembly, and engineering
  • Working with mechanical sub‑assemblies, tools, fixtures, and production equipment
  • Learning to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
  • Supporting build, test, and continuous improvement activities
  • Gaining insight into quality, manufacturing engineering, and health & safety practices
  • Working closely with engineers, team leads and mentors throughout the programme

You will be part‑time at West College Scotland ( Greenock campus) to build your technical foundation, while working part time at our production site in Inchinnan, Renfrew involving workplace learning with ongoing study as you work towards completing your apprenticeship and obtaining your engineering qualifications. You will need to be able to travel to our site in Inchinnan and the collage.

  • 4 National 5’s in science, maths, IT, graphic communication, computing science engineering science, metal/wood work
  • Enjoy practical, hands‑on learning
