THE ROLE: As National Scientific Sales Manager - US reporting to our North American Scientific Sales Manager, you’ll be accountable for all sales activities performed by the Territory Managers and their teams across the US.  Developing and implementing expanding customer sales, performance metrics and analysis and overseeing the sales pipeline to ensure targets are met, you’ll also cover prospecting, lead qualification, quotation and closing activities.  Together with regular forecasting, you’ll negotiate and close major deals, whilst building and sustaining relationships with key accounts, especially with OEMs.  Other key accountabilities include:

  • monitoring competitor activities
  • developing strategic territory business plans
  • performance monitoring
  • coaching Territory Managers and preparing career development objectives.

THE CANDIDATE: Qualified to degree level in sales, business administration or a related field, you have a significant B2B sales management track record, preferably in analytical laboratory equipment, underpinned by proven success selling capital equipment.  With outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills, you’re an analytical, data-driven problem-solver, with strong customer-orientation and first-class negotiation, organisational and time management skills.  Willing to travel to customer locations (up to 75% travel), you have hands-on experience with CRM software, including opportunity management, pipeline management and forecasting.  You also:

  • have strong computer skills (particularly PowerPoint and, Excel)
  • are ideally based in the Boston Area (flexible for the right candidate)
  • are authorised to work in the United States
