THE ROLE: As Procurement Officer reporting to the Global Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the development and sustainability of a robust, compliant and uninterrupted supply chain. You will develop supplier rapport, deliver value add solutions into operations, maintain system pricing, reporting savings and maintaining optimum stock levels.

Key duties include:

  • Instigating category management purchasing strategies with Global Supply Chain & Logistics Manager.
  • Supporting the analysis to remove single sourcing, non-value added distribution networks, supplier obligations to CSA type critical parts and consignment stocks to support the fluidity and robustness of the supply chain.
  • Building market knowledge (intelligence) of products procured – key suppliers, manufacturing points, supply chains and ensure Business Continuity at all times.
  • Producing timely reports of visits to supplier site and at HQ as part of supplier relationship management.  Identifying and actioning key opportunities and risks for the business.
  • Point of contact with suppliers on delivery and quality reliability, instigating and developing corrective and preventative action programmes with quality vendor engineers.
  • Ensuring projected demands (increases and decreases) are effectively communicated to suppliers for planning forecasts.

THE CANDIDATE: Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • CIPS or studying towards would be highly advantageous
  • Organisation & effective time management skills
  • Open, clear and accurate communication skills
  • Knowledge of SAP B1 would be advantageous
  • Procurement experience from a manufacturing environment (strategies, contracts, tendering, supplier relationship management etc.)
