Procurement Officer - Glasgow

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Officer to make a significant contribution to this award–winning, international technology manufacturing business.
 
Reporting to the Global Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the development and sustainability of a robust, compliant and uninterrupted supply chain. You will develop supplier rapport, deliver value add solutions into operations, maintain system pricing, reporting savings and maintaining optimum stock levels.
 
Key duties include:
  • Instigate category management purchasing strategies with Global Supply Chain & Logistics Manager.
  • Support the analysis and implementation of activities to remove single sourcing, non-value added distribution networks, supplier obligations to CSA type critical parts and consignment stocks to support the fluidity and robustness of the supply chain.
  • Build market knowledge (intelligence) of products procured – key suppliers, manufacturing points, supply chains and ensure Business Continuity at all times.
  • Produce timely reports of visits to supplier site and at HQ as part of supplier relationship management.Identify and action key opportunities and risks for the business.
  • Point of contact with suppliers on delivery and quality reliability, instigate and develop corrective and preventative action programmes with quality vendor engineer(s).
  • Ensure projected demands (increases and decreases) are effectively communicated to suppliers for planning forecasts.
  • Review and improve Peak Supplier Benchmark scoring.
  • Represent supply chain and support PEAK Design Engineering teams through project realisation.
  • Manage the phase in / phase out transition plans with suppliers and design engineers.
  • Support the accuracy of SAP Material Master Data.
  • Monitor and take corrective actions on Slow Moving Inventory of parts to minimise the financial implications to the business.
  • To maintain SAP with all contracts and validity periods.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Certification in Procurement & Supply Chain (or equivalent)
  • Organisation & effective time management skills
  • Open, clear and accurate communication skills
  • Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
Experience
  • Demonstrable experience within a procurement environment, with responsibility for strategies, contracts, tendering, supplier relationship management etc.
