Product Manager – Peak Scientific

Glasgow: near Inchinnan, Renfrew with 10% International travel

A fast-paced and challenging Product Management role within the growing marketing function of an award-winning, global technology manufacturing business.

As one of several Product Managers in a growing department, you will be responsible for managing all business aspects of our extensive product portfolio, defining strategy, supporting and driving global sales teams through analysis of sales trends, competitor activity, regional pricing and promotions and ensuring appropriate marketing and product positioning.

You will own the New Product Introduction (NPI) process managing all information flow and lead cross-company communication whilst liaising with our sales and marketing teams to drive through the ‘strategy to market’ for new products, ensuring maximum delivery impact.

As a key driver of the Design Development Process, you will assess and manage new product projects from conception, through feasibility and defining business case, and on to launch. In the role of Product Manager, you will be an evangelist for your assigned product ranges, bridging the gap between sales and engineering teams, as well as engaging externally with the market to inform new product development decisions. 

 Reporting to the Team Lead (Product Management) your major tasks will include:

  • Collating and assessing market requirements and channelling this via new product development proposals
  • Developing and maintaining strong product positioning for all products in a varied and extensive portfolio
  • Conduct market research to identify new applications and competitor threats
  • Monitor ROI throughout the product life cycle and responding to changing market
  • Close cooperation with designated key accounts on NPD and’ go to market’ strategy
  • Managing existing product portfolio – full lifecycle management
  • Work closely with Marketing colleagues to conduct pro-active promotional campaigns for products across key target markets and geographies
  • Input into forecasting and global pricing strategy across relevant product categories

To deliver the growth we are looking for, you will need a Degree-level qualification in a Marketing, Business or Life Science discipline, with a proven track record in product management, product marketing or technical sales. You will be experienced in identifying and presenting innovative and creative product proposals at senior level as well as working with cross-functional and global teams.  Strong project management skills and a proven ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects with tight timelines are essential.
