Production Planner - Glasgow

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Planner to make a significant contribution to the growth of this award–winning, international technology manufacturing business.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for coordinating production plans and working closely with various business areas; including production, sales and procurement, to ensure we maximise our capacity and exceed customer expectations. To excel in this role, you will be a person focussed individual who enjoys a fast-paced role where accuracy and meeting deadlines are the key to success.

Key Tasks:

  • Coordinate and create production plans and material flow.

  • Distribute works orders and analyse output against forecast to proactively identify any issues and facilitate process improvements where possible.
  • Create reports for the board and senior management, detailing manufacturing, materials and capacity requirements for the plant.
  • Strive to enhance and develop processes to ensure continual improvement and optimum customer satisfaction.
  • Approve build schedules and resource required to manage production.
  • Collect and analyse production data.
  • Liaise with suppliers where required.

With a good standard of education, you must have a proven track record in planning within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will also have fantastic organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied work load. Experience of analysing and manipulating numerical data would be advantageous. Robust experience of SAP within a manufacturing environment is essential and you will also have good experience of Excel and other MS Office products.
