Production Supervisor - Glasgow

THE ROLE: Reporting to the Senior Production Manger you will be an experienced leader who will relish the challenge of supervising a busy team of technical operators:

  • Supervision of approximately 20 Technical Operators and working closely with the planning team to ensure work plan is carried out to meet agreed delivery dates
  • Monitor and manage work level and performance standards
  • Absence management, including return to work interviews
  • Organise on-going training and development of Technical Operators
  • Managing the building and testing of gas generation systems including sub-assemblies
  • Run daily meetings to discuss targets, workload and performance issues.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a fast paced, mechanical/electrical production environment and have the ability to lead and motivate a team. With a positive and pro-active approach, you will take pride in improving productivity/efficiency, developing your team and working closely with the other production supervisors in the achievement of departmental KPIs.

  • Self-motivation with a keen sense of enthusiasm and the ability to motivate a team
  • Computer literacy with experience of operating an integrated IT system
  • Genuine drive to implement continual improvement processes throughout the business (knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques would be advantageous)
  • Experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment (knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical sub assembly would be advantageous)
  • Excellent communication and people management experience
  • Experience of ERP system (SAP B1) would be advantageous
