THE COMPANY: Peak Scientific Instruments is the global market leader in the design, manufacture and servicing of instrument gas generators for analytical laboratories in the life science and biomedical sectors. We have been developing award-winning gas generation products since 1997 and now employ over 480 people globally in 20 international offices, with a turnover of £66M. Over the last five years the company has enjoyed impressive annual growth between 25 and 30%, overall and 60% growth across the service division, selling 90% of our gas generator products overseas to over 126 countries.
Peak Japan is a key market for Peak Scientific both in terms of growth and its contribution to our global business. Since opening a dedicated office in Tokyo in 2012, Peak continues to invest heavily in Japan. We have ambitious growth plans for the coming few years in terms of Sales and headcount. You will be joining a team of 6+ and learn about the fusion of Japan and UK working cultures.
THE ROLE: With this continuing success and growth we are looking for a Sales Representative to lead and manage our sales operations in West Japan. Reporting to the Sales Manager you will be responsible for the following:
- Managing a territory consisting of many customers across various markets
- Prospecting and cold calling to establishes new customers by managing a sales pipeline and developing and delivering proposals to customers by illustrating Peak Scientific’s value proposition
- Selling consultatively, detailing products, determining customer needs and requirements, and making recommendations to both prospects and customers of the various solutions we can offer their business
- Working with the Sales Manager to develop strategic territory business plans for achievement of sales growth and quota attainment
- Building and sustaining relationships with customers and ensures customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Representing and developing strong relationships with OEM manufacturers.
THE CANDIDATE: English speaking and educated to Degree level you will have a proven, successful sales track record. Knowledge of Japanese markets within a relevant industry, combined with strong customer facing skills is essential. International experience would be a bonus as key to this role is developing relationships with our OEMs, end users and distributors. You will be an excellent problem-solver, both technically and commercially. In addition to strong business acumen, you will be ambitious, driven and happy to be measured by results, whether that’s new business revenue, development and growth of existing business and/or effective territory coverage.
