Senior Management Accountant - Glasgow

Job Title:             Senior Management Accountant
Location:             Inchinnan, near Glasgow Airport
Hours:                  37.5 hours per week, 8.30am – 4.30pm 
 
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Management Accountant to join our growing Finance team.
 
THE ROLE: Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, as Senior Management Accountant, your role will be to produce management accounting reports on both current and forecasted financial positions, inclusive of provision of quality in-depth insight and analysis. You will have line management responsibilities for a team of two Management Accountants and you will also assist the Group Financial Controller in the day to day support of all finance functions across several group entities (end to end process). Other key responsibilities include:
  • Managing the financial transaction processing, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately, timely and efficiently across several group entities;
  • Monitoring of performance across several group entities on a monthly basis;
  • Reviewing and signing-off of monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Management of the monthly and annual ledger close process across several group entities;
  • Responsibility for statutory financial statements, ensuring full compliance with relevant accounting standards and reporting requirements;
  • Key contact for external advisors for several key areas including, audit, tax compliance, R&D tax claims etc.;
  • Cash management and working capital analysis and review across several group entities;
  • Reviewing and challenging of budget proposals and controlling of actual costs against budget;
  • Responsibility for ensuring compliance and providing support on global policies, procedures, guidance documents and internal controls for several group entities;
  • Be the key driver in proposing, effecting and supporting process improvements locally;
  • Responsibility for local and overseas compliance work;
  • Providing financial support to the different departments within the company, including providing financial advice and support in terms of budgeting, potential cost savings, day to day spend requirements, periodic performance against forecast and ad hoc advice;
  • Playing a key part in the future of the new finance systems implementation globally;
  • Leading, developing and managing two Management Cccountants to ensure the delivery of all key deliverables on a monthly basis.
 
THE CANDIDATE:
  • Qualified CIMA / ACA / ACCA accountant
  • Experience of producing quality management accounting reporting packs with in-depth insight and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills required in order to investigate, understand and explain variances and overall business performance
  • International and/or manufacturing experience would be advantageous
  • Advanced excel skills are essential
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Previous people management experience would be advantageous
