Peak Scientific Instruments is an award winning Scottish Company, specializing in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market. Due to continued global expansion, we are recruiting for a talented Staff Accountant to join our North American Headquarters in Billerica, MA.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you be involved in all aspects of accounting with a focus on month end reporting in a high growth, international business. An excellent communicator, you will develop strong relationships with your local team and key members of the finance team at Peak HQ in Scotland. Individuals who fit our culture and values will have a high degree of professionalism but appreciate our non- corporate feel in a fun atmosphere.
Key Duties:
- Working collaboratively with both the local and global finance teams, in order to produce timely and accurate financial reports.
- Assisting with the monthly close process, including preparation and review of accounting reconciliations.
- Management of accounts receivable, including follow up via email and/or telephone on overdue customer balances
- Assist with the accounts payable process, as necessary
- Review of Fixed Assets and Depreciation Accounting
- Assist with filing of State and Local Tax returns
- Ad hoc reporting as necessary
With experience of working in a similar role and robust knowledge of accounting principles, you will have a genuine drive to develop your career within finance. Experience of working with SAP or a similar ERP system, would be beneficial. You will also possess:

A bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance would be an advantage

Excellent team working skills, with the ability to work autonomously as required

Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
