Technical Data Lead - Glasgow

We’re looking for a self-motivated Technical Data Lead to join our IT team based in our Head Office in Inchinnan. This is a unique opportunity to play a significant part in designing and building our future Data strategy and Azure infrastructure. Engaging with colleagues and our Senior Leadership team, the main objective in the role will be to translate our strategic aims of the organization into work-relevant objectives and deliverables.

You’ll have the freedom to design, develop and optimise data pipelines and systems, as well as analysing and interpreting large datasets to drive actionable insights and inform decision making.

This role will give you the opportunity to really contribute to the development of innovative solutions and make the business operations more efficient, unlocking the power of their data.

Your expertise in both technical aspects and data analysis will contribute to the success of our data-driven initiatives.

Ideally, you will have experience in BI Develop and Data Modeler with a background in Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric, including Synapse, SQL Database, Data Factory and Power BI or equivalent. With excellent communication skills and high attention to detail, you’ll be adaptable in your daily operations and be able to work under pressure. The appointed candidate will also have demonstrable experience in creating complex BI solutions using tools like Power BI and the ability in data migration, dimensional modelling and entity relation modelling. 

The Technical Data Lead will ideally have a combination of these technical skills-

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and other relevant programming languages
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools
  • Experience with ETL tools 
  • Understanding of cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS)
