Technical Assembly Operator - Glasgow

Working Hours: 8am – 4.15pm, Monday to Friday
 
THE COMPANY: Peak Scientific Instruments, a fast–growing company specialising in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market, are seeking to hire a Technical Operator to join our growing production team here at Peak HQ, in Inchinnan.
 
THE ROLE: Reporting to the Line Manager, the key tasks will be to manufacture mechanical sub-assemblies and subsequently build into a complete unit to approved quality standards in set times as well as processing the units through approved test procedures to comply with specifications. Electrical wiring of components will be required as part of the final build process (basic electrical knowledge would be beneficial). Other tasks will include:
  • Copper pipe preparation ready for assemblies
  • Component testing for leaks and purity
  • Fault finding and analysis
  • Engaging with Materials and Warehouse Teams to ensure stock integrity, expediting shortages, kitting – as required
  • Engaging with QC regarding final inspection
 
THE CANDIDATE: You will be a self-starter, who is comfortable working to targets and will have a strong detail focus. You will also possess:
  • Experience from a similar manufacturing background
  • Experience of working in a mechanical assembly environment
  • Basic electrical knowledge – preparation of basic harness assembly including soldering and crimping techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team focus
  • Continual improvement focus.
