Territory Manager - Illinois

Peak Scientific Instruments, a fast-growing company specialising in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market is looking to recruit a Territory Manager to cover the Illinois territory and form part of our growing Americas Sales team.
 
Peak Scientific Inc. is the rapidly expanding North American arm of Peak Scientific Ltd. Its main US office is in Billerica, Massachusetts. The North American operation plans for further significant growth over the next few years. You would be joining the North American team of about 60 staff, including dedicated sales and field service engineer teams covering the whole of mainland US and key territories in Canada.
 
THE ROLE: Reporting to the North American Sales Manager, this role will ideally be located in Chicago, IL and will involve travel throughout the territory. Travel to other parts of the USA and Canada is likely, as well as the occasional visit to our head office in Scotland.
 
Your main job functions will include:
  • Achieving sales growth to hit target, as a minimum, and drive growth to create a sustainable longer-term pipeline.
  • Developing sales opportunities and drive to order closure at agreed profit margins in line with business expectations.
  • Developing a balanced portfolio of opportunities and orders won across Peak suite of products and business interest.
  • Maintaining accurate sales forecast and contributing to live status update meetings.
  • Developing and executing a sales strategy to deliver the core objectives – orders to target, achieve targeted margins and customer focussed.
  • Managing and developing the business with Peak’s OEM accounts, and customers, including providing technical advice and support.
  • Database Maintenance – responsible for ensuring the accuracy of customer contact details in the territory and ensuring accurate recording of all relevant information.
THE CANDIDATE:
  • College Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 1-3+ Years Sales Experience Preferred
  • Experience in selling laboratory capital equipment preferred
  • Business to Business Sales Experience Preferred
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills
  • Ability to carry a business conversation with business owners and decision makers
  • Ability to work independently and successfully manage time and territory
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to sell strategically within an account
  • Ability to understand individual customer operations
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations
  • Proactively update CRM on a daily basis
  • Strong computer skills
