THE COMPANY: Peak Scientific Instruments are a multi award winning company, who specialises in the manufacturing of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market, and Industrial generators for wide industry applications, with our head office based in Scotland.

We are actively reshaping the global laboratory and industrial gas generator market through innovative product design and world class service.  Our products offer superb technical performance and are smoother, quieter and more efficient than anything else in the market today. 

With this continuing success and growth we are looking for a Territory Manager to drive sales and profitability with our end users as well as our OEM Accounts and our extensive distributor network in Japan for all Peak Scientific Products.

Our current turnover is $60M with plans in place to grow significantly over the next few years. Whilst we manufacture at our Scottish headquarters, we export 90% of our products to over 120 countries and have a number of global offices including the USA, China, South Africa, India, Brazil, Singapore, Mexico and Australia. 

THE ROLE: Reporting to the Country Manager you will be based in Tokyo with extensive travel around Japan and will be responsible for:

  • providing Sales advice and support on a technical platform
  • supporting customers throughout the sales negotiation process
  • from a business development perspective, finding new sources for leads
  • attending exhibitions and seminars
  • monthly sales reporting and customer database maintenance

That will mean taking responsibility for strategic planning to ensure that we gain maximum market coverage across your territory.

THE CANDIDATE: English speaking and educated to Degree level you will have a proven, successful sales track record. Knowledge of Japanese markets within a relevant industry, combined with strong customer facing skills is essential.   International experience would be a bonus as key to this role is developing relationships with our OEMs, end users and distributors.  You will be an excellent problem-solver, both technically and commercially.  In addition to strong business acumen, you will be ambitious, driven and happy to be measured by results, whether that’s new business revenue, development and growth of existing business and/or effective territory coverage.
