Territory Manager - Southern States
Estimated Compensation: $85,000-$90,000 + Commission
Preference given to employees located in Dallas, TX or the surrounding areas
Overview
Peak Scientific Inc, a fast–growing industry leader specializing in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market is looking to recruit a Territory Manager to be responsible for our Southern Territory and be part of our North Americas Sales team. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager – NA East, this role will ideally be located in Dallas and will involve travel throughout Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, and be responsible for selling gas generators, accessories, and service to both, existing and newly acquired customers in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing a mature sales territory consisting of prospects and customers across various markets including pharma, biotech, government and academia
- Following up on leads and cold calling to establish new sales prospects, managing a pipeline and developing and delivering proposals for customers clearly illustrating Peak Scientific’s value proposition
- Selling consultatively, detailing products, determining customer needs and requirements, and making recommendations of the various solutions we can offer laboratories
- Representing Peak Scientific at trade-shows and developing strong relationships with Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry manufacturers
- Working with the North America Sales Manager to develop a territory business plan to aid in the achievement of the annual targets and meet strategic initiatives
- Inputting and updating customer information and sales opportunities in the SAP CRM database on a daily basis
- Building and sustaining relationships with customers and ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business required
- 1-3+ years sales experience preferably selling capital equipment to laboratory markets
- Excellent communication and team interaction skills
- Ability to carry a business conversation with scientists, laboratory managers and decision makers
- Desire and ability to work independently, successfully manage your time
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to sell strategically
- Ability to understand individual customer requirements
- Willingness to travel to customer locations within the territory with need for overnight travel
- Update and navigate business systems, including ERP and CRM on a daily basis
- Strong computer/application skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM)
