Warehouse Team Leader - Backshift - Glasgow

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor you will be responsible for leading, directing and supervising the team of personnel to meet defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). You will ensure all Goods Inward consignments of material are promptly and accurately booked in, ensure all Stock is promptly stowed and Production Work Order is timely picked, issued and distributed in line with defined priorities.

Duties will include:

  • Deputising for section supervisor in their absence.
  • Overseeing day-to-day teams' operation and performance.
  • Delegating tasks and set realistic objectives/deadlines.
  • Driving activity to meet KPI’s and exigent material requirements.
  • Acting as the Deputy Training Co-ordinator for Warehouse personnel.
  • Promoting a healthy, energised working environment and atmosphere.
  • Monitoring, reporting and recording building defects.
  • Advocating and practicing the ‘5S Lean’ methodology.
  • Carrying out Inventory Stock counts as directed in line with the Cyclic Plan.
  • Instilling and maintaining a high level of Warehouse housekeeping and actively explore. opportunities for continued improvement.
  • Maintaining Health & Safety standards and ensure Warehouse security integrity is maintained.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Warehousing and Inventory Management environment.  You will bring a positive attitude with good interpersonal and teamwork skills to the role.

You will also possess:

  • An adept ability to quickly problem solve and implement well thought out solutions.
  • Good working knowledge of performance metrics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Punctuality with an infectious work ethic.
  • Computer literate Microsoft Office (SAP B1 experience desired) and capable of operating an integrated computer system.
  • An acute sense of ownership, pride in performance and output to improve business.
  • Driving Licence and Forklift - Counter Balance/Reach Truck licence desired.
